It does not get rid of knots that are already there. It pulls and is uncomfortable for the cat. Once I shaved the knots out it does comb nicely. The push button works well to empty the comb of fur. I’ll continue to use it and hopefully no more knots will come.

I didn’t use this as a flea comb but honestly this is a really pretty fine comb and I would use it that way on my fosters if needed. But I have a domestic long haired cat that gets matted if I don’t brush his hair and deal with knots right away, and this was was better than using a larger comb with a larger flat brush head. I am able to actually focus on the knots before they turn into mats and he doesn’t get overstimulated!
